I think its fair to say I’m feeling a little stressed at the moment, three weeks off at Easter was definitely not what the doctor ordered. I had the two weeks school holiday off with the little man and then on the evening that he should have been going back to school he came down with the dreaded lurgy which he then passed on to me! So all told that was three weeks lost aarrgghh!!
Anyway I’m back to it, I’ve been running around all over the place to various quilt groups and now we are up to our ears in show preparations. Averil has been an absolute brick this week…God, I love that woman and I would be lost without her! but don’t tell her I said that hehehehe. She has been making kits for our Hare cushion
and then as many Winter Lovin’ Tote’s as possible, in as many colourways as possible; this is a new take on our Summer Lovin’ Tote which has been a runaway success.
Followed by as many Woodland friend kits as possible…
I’m hoping that before I leave on Tuesday for the show that I can cobble a few Holly and the Ivy wreath’s together.
There are so many jobs yet to do, I’d better get my head down. I hope that I will see lots of you at the show. If you are going to Malvern I will be on the first stand that you see when you come through the door. See you soon x
I’m freshly back from Malvern quilt show. As usual it was brilliant! Thank you so very much to everyone who stopped by to see us, we had such a giggle. I managed to do a whistle stop tour of the quilts during the last hour of Sunday. I didn’t manage to snap them all but have attached a slide show so that you can enjoy them too. My personal favourite was the black and white Flying Goose, it was simply stunning. Which one do you like best?
Just a quick line to let you know that I will be at the Three Counties Showground this week Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. My pitch, Quilting Antics, is right by the front door and ALL my quality craft cottons are priced at £6 per metre; no cheap cotton poplins on our stand!
If you’re visiting stop by to say hi, its great to meet old friends and make new ones.
So, guys and gals, what do you think?
We have some really cool cat fabric in store which has been sat on the shelf for a while, so we decided to do something with it and have now created this cushion kit.
I asked ole’ Ginger Tom, a while back, if I could pimp one of her patterns and this is the result. Diz has been busy knocking up this beauty and as you can see she’s done a really good job. Well done Diz I owe you a cream tea…shall I keep it on the slate until we’ve done the weight watcher thing for a few weeks? (We rejoined weight watchers this week…again! We are both brilliant at loosing the weight but absolutely rubbish at keeping it off.)
So back to the project. We have 20 fabric packs priced at £20 each, if you fancy having one either drop me a line here on the blog, ring the shop on 01729 824708 or we will see you next weekend at Malvern show. We will be there again this spring, our pitch is the one right by the front door so you can’t fail to see us. Gillian has been very busy folding fat quarters in preparation for the show and we have heaps of them priced at just £1.50 each. All our fabric is £6 a metre for best quality craft cotton, none of that cotton poplin rubbish which wears and goes threadbare too easily on the seams; so ideal if you need backings. I have topped up my stock and have loads of civil war type prints as well as lovely fresh and bright prints superb for summer. If you are going to the show please stop by to say hello.
There were so many quilts at the Festival of Quilts that I was unable to get round and capture them all, so for now here are a few more. I still have more to add but as its The Great Northern Quilt Show at the Great Yorkshire Show Ground in Harrogate this weekend I’m not sure when I will fit it all in.
Don’t forget that if you make a purchase on the stand and give me your name and address you will be entered into our prize draw, the prize this time will be a selection of Frixion pens which we will be selling on the stand
I haven’t time to add many words to this post, only enough time to let you know that this is a slideshow of the first 30 or so quilts that I have photographed from the display at Malvern. I will post more tonight (it takes an age to crop and upload the images) I hope that you enjoy them and I will add more later.
Don’t forget to give us your name and addresses when you visit the show in order to be entered into our prize draw to win a selection of Clover yo yo makers.
Just done the build up today for Quilts UK at the Three Counties showground at Malvern. My stand is looking good and I’m now ready for a relaxing glass of something at The Hanley Swan public house.
I hope to see as many of you as possible and don’t forget that when you visit my stand if you give me your name and address you will be entered into my free giveaway the prize this time is a selection of Clover yo yo makers.
Good luck and don’t forget you’ve got to be in it to win it!

I have had a really interesting evening this evening; I went to a meeting at The Folly in Settle where about 50 people such as Settle business owners and quite a few other interested parties met to be told about a new Settle App’ it sounds brilliant. Once it is launched you would download it free on your i phone and it will contain all the information you need to get the most out of your visit to Settle. It will show you walks including maps which highlight where you are and points of interest along the way. There will be a photo gallery and pages which group together all the things that you are particularly interested in. What an inspired use of technology, I for one will be advertising on it.
Anyway for now I best finish packing my suitcase ready to set of to Quilts Uk Malvern in the morning.
