I have had a wonderful evening in the company of Vicky Cowburn. Vicky is an amazing woman, she is a coordinator for the Linus Quilt Project. In case you have never heard of it, the Linus Project donates quilts to sick and terminally ill children and their families. Lovely snuggly quilts which can wrap children up in so much love and remind families of past cuddles if that terrible time should ever come. Quilts are gifts made by volunteers who donate all the fabrics themselves.
Anyhow back to the purpose of this post, the reason that I went to visit Vicky was so that we could plan an event together that would help raise the profile of the Linus Project…and we have. On Monday 18th of November, which is the Monday following Children in Need, we are going to have a day where we try and make 4, yes 4, single bed sized quilts in the day. Now I know that is a tall order, so we’re going to need help, lots of it! If you would like to be involved please, please, please get in touch and let us know. The details are still ‘under construction’ but I can tell you that it will be at Quilting Antics, Watershed Mill, Settle and will be from 10am to 4pm on the 18th November. It would be wonderful if we could get helpers who have never been involved in Linus Quilts before , as well as those who currently make Linus Quilts. If you would like to be involved let us know
