The new PFAFF Passport 2.0 arrived today, at last a new machine which is affordable, lightweight for classes and has all the functions that patchwork and quilters need. No mess, no fussy stuff, just exactly what you need.
It has IDT or as many of you know it, a built in walking foot, which works with most of your presser feet, including your 1/4″ foot. (meaning no need to buy extra feet for using with a walking foot, therefore saving money.) It has a small selection of decorative stitches including zig zag and left and right blanket stitches; essentials for appliquers.
It is a knockout little machine at only £399. We all feel that we should have the big all singing all dancing, extremely expensive machines to be a heavy duty patchworker but why bother when this gem has it all…I love it. I accept that if you want to quilt a large quilt it is going to be tricky but how many of us send that part away to be ‘long armed’ or enjoy the serenity of hand quilting.
Having said all that I understand that many of us enjoy the extra functions of the bigger machines but I would feel confident having this machine in my car, travelling to classes if it meant that I could leave my super dooper expensive machine safely at home.
